What to Expect
At your first appointment, you will meet with your practitioner for an initial evaluation and consultation. You and your practitioner will discuss any relevant history, as well as your goals and the best treatment options available to meet your needs. You may be measured or casted for your orthosis during the first appointment.
After the appropriate measurements have been taken, fabrication will begin for your device. Several appointments may be necessary to ensure a proper fit before the final orthosis is fabricated and ready to take home.
At your delivery appointment, you will be able to take your device home once your practitioner determines the fit, comfort, and function of your device is appropriate.
After your device is delivered, regular follow-ups may be necessary to maintain appropriate fit and function of your device. Your practitioner is available to discuss any questions or concerns you may have, and any necessary adjustments may be made in the office.
As a note: Your practitioner will discuss with you the expected process and timeline for your specific device. Although we make every attempt to deliver your device in an appropriate time frame, this process may take longer than expected due to unpredictability in fabrication, transportation, or fit. Our goal is to fabricate a device that is comfortable and effective for long-term wear, which may initially require additional appointments to ensure proper fit, comfort, and function.
